This is a large, sweeping panorama of the Bridger Mountains shot during incredible, pre-dawn December alpenglow. At it's largest size, 24x96, individual limbs on the trees at timberline are clearly defined, as are the spokes on the wheel line irrigator in the foreground field.
I love early winter when the world begins to stand still during the shortest days of the year. Standing beside my camera, waiting for a new day, I was struck by how drastically different each season is in SW Montana. It seemed a different lifetime ago that I photographed spring mountain goats in the peaks I was capturing.
